On 7th of December 2022 InvestJigawa Council members visited two industries – Great Northern Agribusiness Limited’s sugarcane plantation and proposed factory site; and Vinylon Footwear Industry Limited’s shoe factory. Members also visited Gagarawa Industrial Park, which is under development.
A week ago today, InvestJigawa hosted a dinner for its investors. InvestJigawa visited Hanan Hangout & Events on the 13th of October 2022. The company provides catering and hospitality services which include parties, workshops, meetings, and various charity programmes. The founder Hajiya Salma Waliki also took the InvestJigawa team to her company’s 250 capacity hall built to cater to larger events. The visit was part of InvestJigawa’s provision of aftercare services to investors in Jigawa State.
On 11th October 2022 a team led by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives, and Tourism embarked on a joint site inspection of Gagarawa Industrial Park. Other members of the team represented InvestJigawa, Due Process and Project Monitoring Bureau and the Rural Electricity Board. The visit was to inspect ongoing road, water and electricity works at the park.
The second InvestJigawa Council meeting held on 6th October 2022. On the agenda were review of the InvestJigawa Law, the agency’s 5 – year strategic plan and the draft Jigawa State Public-Private Partnership (PPP) policy. The draft policy was developed both from the state’s existing PPP framework and the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC)’s guidelines. As a routine activity, the meeting also reviewed specific investments and made recommendations that would ensure our investors operate smoothly in Jigawa State.
Virgin Land Agro Limited is a company that is into the production of sunflower and economic trees such as mango, in Jigawa State. On 21st September, 2022 InvestJigawa had a meeting with the company’s Director, Abdulrahman Falaki Hussain to discuss the company’s interest in establishing a sunflower processing mill for the extraction of oil and animal feeds, and with a partner from Egypt, a fruit juice factory on their farm in Dutse LGA. smart smart
