SMALL CLAIMS COURT INAUGURATED IN JIGAWA STATE

The Small Claims Court (SCC) in Jigawa State has taken off. The court was established in November 2021 to resolve commercial disputes involving small claims of N1million and below within a short period of time. The goal is to reduce cost and time wastage in litigation for MSMEs especially. Over the past few months since its establishment, the court was equipped and a magistrate appointed to preside over its proceedings. InvestJigawa in collaboration with Jigawa State Government’s Ease of Doing Business Steering Committee held a town hall meeting on Wednesday 27th April 2022 to sensitize MSMEs within the state on reforms embarked upon by the state government meant to provide a conducive environment for the MSMEs to thrive.
