Jigawa State Hosts Virtual Meeting with Dutch Experts to Advance Agriculture, Energy, and Water Solutions
The Jigawa State Investment Promotion Agency recently held a virtual meeting with the Nigerian Dutch Business Association to explore transformative opportunities in agriculture, renewable energy, and water management. Discussions focused on leveraging Dutch expertise to tackle key challenges like flood prevention and irrigation for year-round farming, positioning Jigawa as a hub for sustainable agricultural practices. A proposal for a partnership with a consortium of Dutch companies to modernize cattle ranching was also tabled, with an emphasis on resource sharing and technical collaboration.
The meeting further highlighted plans to enhance rural electrification through solar projects and implement innovative solutions such as slope irrigation systems and containerized water purification.
