Dr. Zakiyyu Muhammad is InvestJigawa’s Secretary/Legal Adviser. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Bayero University Kano, Masters of Laws (LLM) from BPP University, London with specialization in Comparative Commercial Law and earned a Ph.D. in Law with a specialization in Human Rights and Constitutional Studies from Mewar University, India. He holds a Barrister at Law (BL) certificate which qualified him to practice as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Before joining the services of the Jigawa State Government, Dr. Zakiyyu had served as a Senior Registrar at the Court of Appeal of Nigeria. During his doctoral studies, he held positions of an Assistant Professor of Law at Mewar University, a Lecturer at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, and an Assistant Editor at the International Journal of Law in India.
Dr. Zakiyyu joined the services of the Jigawa State Government as a Senior State Counsel and progressively advanced to the rank of Deputy Director. He is an expert in both civil and criminal litigation, legal drafting, and research, and is also a certified mediator.
