SMALL CLAIMS COURT INAUGURATED IN JIGAWA STATE

The Small Claims Court (SCC) in Jigawa State has taken off. The court was established in November 2021 to resolve commercial disputes involving small claims of N1million and below within a short period of time. The goal is to reduce cost and time wastage in litigation for MSMEs especially. Over the past few months since its establishment, the court was equipped and a magistrate appointed to preside over its proceedings. On the 4th of February Jigawa State Government signed an agreement with Kadume Green Consortium on a 1000ha rice production and outgrower scheme for farmers. The consortium comprises three companies; Silvex International, M & A’s Greenery and ADAB Agric-Resource Ltd.
